Rep. El-Mahdi Holly to Host Second Annual Black Men & Boys Day at State Capitol

ATLANTA – State Representative El-Mahdi Holly (D-Stockbridge) will host the Second Annual Black Men & Boys Day on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at 9:15 a.m. at the Georgia State Capitol.

“We are two years in, and the significance of this event keeps growing,” said Rep. Holly. “In the words of famed writer Ralph Ellison, ‘Power doesn’t have to show off. Power is confident, self-assuring, self-starting and self-stopping, self-warming and self-justifying. When you have it, you know it.’”

The event will be a celebration of black men and boys, highlighting their achievements, resilience and contributions to the community. Sponsors and participants of the event include Black Male Initiative Georgia, Black Voters Matter, Georgia STAND-UP and Coalition of Black Trade Unionists.
