Rep. Wilkerson Applauds Bonuses for Public Safety Officials and First Responders, Encourages Local Governments and Employers of Public Safety Officials and First Responders to Apply

ATLANTA – Georgia House Minority Whip David Wilkerson (D-Powder Springs) applauds Governor Brian Kemp’s decision to use funding from the American Rescue Plan Act to provide $1,000 bonuses for law enforcement officials and first responders in Georgia.

            “The American Rescue Plan signed by President Joe Biden continues to give us the tools we need to fight this pandemic and recognize those fighting on the front lines,” said Whip Wilkerson. “I am appreciative of Governor Kemp taking action to support those on the front lines in a way that has bipartisan support. I encourage the local elected leaders in my community and across the state to apply for the grants made available by the governor and the American Rescue Plan Act.”

            For more information on how to apply, receive and distribute these funds, please visit the Office of Planning and Budget’s grant funding opportunities website here. Applications will be accepted starting on October 1, 2021 through December 31, 2021.
