Rep. Lynn Smith, Members of the House Working Group on Creative Arts & Entertainment Visit Woodruff Arts Center, Blackhall Studios and Tyler Perry Studios

ATLANTA – State Representative Lynn Smith (R-Newnan) and members of the House Working Group on Creative Arts & Entertainment recently participated in site visits to the Woodruff Arts Center, Blackhall Studios and Tyler Perry Studios on Wednesday, September 18 and Thursday, September 19, 2019.

“The House Working Group on Creative Arts & Entertainment participated in three very informative site visits, where we met with different leaders in Georgia’s fine arts and visual entertainment industries,” said Rep. Smith. “Experiencing first-hand the daily operations of the state’s creative workforce plays a critical role in helping us develop legislation that will support these industries and the local areas that are enriched by them.”

The House Working Group on Creative Arts & Entertainment works with state agencies and stakeholders to bolster investment and job creation in Georgia by the film, television, music and video game production industries among other creative industries. Combined, these industries employ 200,000 Georgians and generate more than $60 billion of economic activity in the state each year. The working group is authorized for the entirety of the 2019-2020 legislative term.
