Rep. Rick Townsend Inducted into the Georgia College and Career Academy Network CEO Hall of Fame

ATLANTA – State Representative Rick Townsend(R-St. Simons) was recently selected as the second inductee into the Georgia College and Career Academy Network (GA CCAN) CEO Hall of Fame. The CEO Hall of Fame recognizes exceptional individuals who have demonstrated excellent careers, achieved significant milestones and upheld the highest standards of professionalism and character. The ceremony, held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, in Columbus, Ga. at Columbus Technical College, celebrated Rep. Townsend’s contributions to education, workforce development and community leadership.

“After serving as CEO of the Golden Isles College and Career Academy for 10 years, I am humbled and honored to join the ranks of esteemed leaders in the CEO Hall of Fame,” said Rep. Townsend. “Education is the cornerstone of our future, and I am committed to working tirelessly to ensure that every student has access to quality education and the tools they need to succeed. I look forward to continuing collaboration in shaping the future of education and workforce development in Georgia.”

Rep. Townsend was inducted into the CEO Hall of Fame for his support of the Georgia College and Career Academy Network. He is an active participant in initiatives to improve educational outcomes and workforce readiness. His efforts have helped expand the College and Career Academy model and promote best practices in education and business partnerships.

Representative Rick Townsend represents the citizens of District 179, which includes portions of Glynn County. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2022 and currently serves as the Secretary of the Natural Resources & Environment Committee and a member of the Education and Special Rules committees.
