Rep. Strickland Appointed to Advisory Committee

ATLANTA— State Representative Brian Strickland (R-McDonough) was recently appointed to serve as a member of the Georgia Film, Music and Digital Entertainment Advisory Committee by Governor Nathan Deal.

“We have set the stage making Georgia one of the top states for film with the incentives approved by the legislature, and I would like to thank Governor Deal for appointing me to this advisory commission,” said Rep. Strickland. “As we continue to see Hollywood flock to Georgia, I believe Henry County and the south side of Atlanta are poised to take advantage of the long-term benefits that the post-production side of film can bring to our area.  I look forward to working to not only continue to attract the cameras to Georgia, but to bring the post-production side of film to our state to open up opportunities for our music and digital entertainment sectors as well.”

The Georgia FMDE Advisory Committee consists of 21 members, appointed by the Governor to guide the state towards competitive initiatives and tax incentives aimed at making Georgia an entertainment destination state. This is the first appointed FMDE Advisory Committee under Gov. Deal.
