Rep. Terry Rogers Receives Leadership Positions

ATLANTA – House Majority Whip Edward Lindsey (R-Atlanta) appointed state Representative Terry Rogers (R–Clarkesville) as a member of the 2013-2014 House Majority Whip team. As a member of the majority whip team, Rep. Rogers will play a critical role by monitoring legislation as it moves through both chambers of the General Assembly and by helping members of the majority caucus to better understand the details of bills and resolutions.

“Rep. Rogers was carefully selected for his dedication, hard work, and honesty, which has allowed him to earn the respect and trust of his fellow caucus members,” said Majority Whip Lindsey. “The legislative understanding and personal integrity that enables Rep. Rogers to successfully serve his constituents will also make him a valuable member of the House Majority Whip team.”

In addition to serving as a Deputy Whip, Rep. Rogers was also recently appointed Vice Chairman of the State Planning & Community Affairs Committee and Secretary of the Defense & Veterans Affairs Committee. The Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments also named Rep. Rogers to the Economic Development & Tourism and Human Relations & Aging committees.

“I’m extremely humbled and honored to have been selected for these positions,” said Rep. Rogers. “I greatly appreciate the confidence and trust of my colleagues in the House and look forward to working with them in these new leadership roles, which will allow me to have a greater positive impact for the people of Northeast Georgia.”

The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.
