Rep. B.J. Pak Receives Committee Assignments and Leadership Posts for the 2013-2014 Legislative Term

ATLANTA – The Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named state Representative B.J. Pak (R-Lilburn) as the new Vice Chairman of the Judiciary Non-Civil Committee and Secretary of the Code Revision Committee. Rep. Pak was also tapped to serve on the powerful Ways and Means Committee, and will continue to serve on the Health & Human Services committee.

Rep. Pak was also chosen to serve as a Deputy Whip for the 2013-2014 term by Majority Whip, Representative Edward Lindsey.

“These committee assignments will give me the opportunity to directly shape Georgia’s policies on important subject matters like taxes and economic incentives, health care and regulation, and criminal justice. I want to thank Speaker Ralston and the Committee on Assignments for assigning me to these important and influential committees, and for having confidence in me to serve as the new Vice Chairman of the Judiciary Non-civil committee. Moreover, I want to thank Majority Whip Lindsey for asking me to join the whip team. I am honored to receive these appointments and look forward to serving our citizens,” said Rep. Pak.

The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.

Members of the majority whip team play a critical role by monitoring legislation as it moves through both chambers of the General Assembly and by helping members of the majority caucus to better understand the details of bills and resolutions.
