Representative Penny Houston Appointed to Georgia Commission on Family Violence

ATLANTA – State Representative Penny Houston (R-Nashville) was appointed to the Georgia Commission on Family Violence (GCFV) by House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) on Friday, July 23, 2010.  As one of the 37 members, Rep. Houston will help lead the commission in its efforts to coordinate community organizations, the state justice system, and other service providers in order to end family violence in Georgia. ATLANTA — State Representative Penny Houston (R-Nashville) welcomed Gwen Desselle to the Georgia House of Representatives on March 10, 2010.  During the visit, Representative Houston led the Georgia House of Representatives in passing House Resolution 1495, congratulating Desselle for being named the 2010 Georgia Teacher of the Year. ATLANTA— On Monday, January 11, 2010, Representative Penny Houston (R- Nashville) delivered the candidate’s speech on behalf of Representative David Ralston (R- Blue Ridge) during his election for Speaker of the Georgia House of Representatives. Forgoing his only opportunity to speak on his own behalf, Representative Ralston instead yielded his time to Representative Houston, trusting her with the final works of his candidacy.
