Reps. Becky Evans, Omari Crawford to Host Legislative, Community Town Hall Meeting

ATLANTA – State Representatives Becky Evans (D-Atlanta) and Omari Crawford (D-Decatur) will host a legislative and community town hall on Saturday, February 11, 2023, from 9:30 – 11 a.m. at the South DeKalb Senior Center in Decatur.

Reps. Evans and Crawford will discuss legislative issues of the 2023 session, including the state budget, housing, education and public safety. They will also share DeKalb County legislative priorities. DeKalb County Commissioner Lorraine Cochran-Johnson and representatives of MARTA will also participate in the meeting to discuss housing and transportation updates along the Candler Road corridor. Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions and share their concerns with these state and local officials.

“I am delighted to return to in-person town hall meetings in the vibrant Candler Corridor community,” said Rep. Evans. “I am also excited to announce I am working to increase DeKalb County’s senior homestead tax exemptions that have not changed in more than 30 years so that seniors can age in place.”

“As a freshman legislator, I am excited to work with the DeKalb County Legislative Delegation and our local officials to move our community forward,” said Rep. Crawford.
