ATLANTA – State Representatives Sandra Scott (D-Rex), Kim Schofield (D-Atlanta) and Ruwa Romman (D-Duluth) will hold a press conference to address an amendment to the McIntosh County Zoning Ordinance for the Hog Hammock District on Sapelo Island TOMORROW, Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 10 a.m. in room 610 of the Coverdell Legislative Office Building in Atlanta.
These legislators believe that the proposed amendment will negatively affect Sapelo Island residents.
Prepared by the McIntosh County Board of Commissioners and the Coastal Regional Commission, the proposed amendment to the McIntosh County Zoning Ordinance for the Hog Hammock District would affect minimum lot size, the minimum square footage of buildings constructed in the district, amend the maximum square footage requirements and otherwise impact various uses allowed within the district.
