Rep. David Clark Appointed to Georgia Joint Defense Commission

ATLANTA – State Representative David Clark (R-Buford) was recently appointed by Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington) to serve as a member of the Georgia Joint Defense Commission.

“I look forward to working with Governor Kemp, Speaker Burns and my colleagues as a voice for Georgians serving in uniform and their families,” said Rep. Clark. “As a home to all branches of our nation’s military, Georgia has a unique responsibility to work with defense leaders and stakeholders across our state. Service members and their families need a voice in policy decisions that impact them, and I am excited to usher in new recommendations that will benefit these hardworking residents. I look forward to combining my legislative and military experience to support the development of military installations in Georgia.”

Established by Senate Bill 395 in 2018, the Georgia Joint Defense Commission is comprised of members of the state legislature and both civilian and military leaders. The commission works to evaluate defense and military issues and provide recommendations that support the development of these installations. The Technical College System of Georgia serves as the agency under which the commission falls.

Representative David Clark represents the citizens of District 100, which includes portions of Forsyth, Gwinnett and Hall counties. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2014 and currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Defense & Veterans Affairs Committee. He also serves on the Economic Development & Tourism, Education and Interstate Cooperation committees.
